Electricity: Contact Nova Scotia Power to set up your electricity account.

Internet and Phone: Compare options for home internet, landline, and mobile phone providers in your area. Some of the more popular providers are: Bell Aliant, Eastlink, Rogers, Telus, and Purple Cow

Garbage and Recycling: Review local garbage, recycling, and composting schedules and guidelines.

Nova Scotia Health Card: Apply for a provincial health card if you’re moving from out of province.

Find a Family Doctor: Join the Nova Scotia Health Authority’s “Need a Family Practice” registry to get connected with local healthcare providers. Find Medical Clinics near you.

Pharmacy: Locate your nearest pharmacy for prescriptions, medical supplies, and everyday health needs.

Vehicle Inspection: If your vehicle is from out of province, schedule a safety inspection with a local business.

Public Transit: Learn about local transit routes and options with Halifax Transit. Book MusGo Rider for local transportation. 

Snow Tires: Winter tires are highly recommended for safe driving during snowy months in Nova Scotia. Check the  local business for tire purchases and tire change/installation.
