GETTING HERE

The Eastern Shore spans the area east of Halifax Harbour continuing northeast along the Atlantic coast to the eastern end of the peninsula at the Strait of Canso.

From the airport

To get to Dartmouth on western end of the Eastern Shore from the Halifax International Airport take highway NS-102 south to the NS-118.

To get to the Strait of Canso on the eastern end of the Eastern Shore from the Halifax International Airport take the NS-102 North to the TransCanada 104 east.

To get to the middle of the Eastern Shore near Sheet Harbour from the Halifax International Airport take the NS-102 North to East Hants. Take exit 8 from the NS-102 to NS-227 east onto NS-224 east towards Sheet Harbour.

To get to Dartmouth on western end of the Eastern Shore from Halifax take either the A. Murray McKay bridge or the Angus L MacDonald bridge.

To get to the Strait of Canso on the eastern end of the Eastern Shore from Halifax take the A. Murray McKay bridge and continue straight on highway 111. Take exit 6B towards Main Street Dartmouth NS-107/Eastern Shore. Continue going straight east towards NS-107, Eastern Shore. At the end of the NS-107, head east on Highway 7. Continue east until you reach your destination. (There are quicker routes to the Strait of Canso from Halifax, but not along the eastern shore of the province.)

To get to the middle of the Eastern Shore near Sheet Harbour from Halifax take the A. Murray McKay bridge and continue straight on highway 111. Take exit 6B towards Main Street Dartmouth NS-107/Eastern Shore. Continue going straight east towards NS-107, Eastern Shore. At the end of the NS-107, head east on Highway 7. Continue east to Sheet Harbour.
